The Power Options window should appear. Click &#8220;Choose what the power buttons do&#8221; from the column on the left.\u00a0<\/p><p>Scroll down to &#8220;Shutdown settings&#8221; and uncheck the box for &#8220;Turn on fast startup&#8221;.\u00a0<\/p><p><em>Note: If these options are greyed out then you may need to click &#8220;Change settings that are currently unavailable&#8221;.<\/em><\/p><p>Click the &#8220;Save changes&#8221; button to apply the changes.\u00a0<\/p><p>Its a cross between hibernation and having your fingers slammed in the door.. you might think everything is faster but when things go bad they usually go from bad to worse. Some programs need to close and open freshly upon reboot&#8230; if they can&#8217;t the can cause all sorts of odd behaviour.<\/p><p>Easy fix ! turn off windows fast start, your machine may load a bit slower but at least it will run well&#8230;<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-7422\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-7422\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Back up your stuff !!<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-7422\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-7422\"><p>Backup Your Stuff \u2026!<br \/>If it\u2019s one thing I can\u2019t stress enough is back your stuff up !!<br \/>It\u2019s near impossible to recover pictures and important thing from a frazzled HDD even worse from an SSD. So either burn it to dvd or what I recommend is sign up for a free Mega account and store it in the cloud.<br \/>With a free account you get 50Gb of storage! It\u2019s all encrypted and its NZ based so has to conform to NZ laws\u2026 not snooped on..<br \/>But I stress DO NOT forget your password, there is no mechanism to recover it. Not even the company can access the data !<br \/>There is an APP for Android and Apple and is good for moving your pics to free up space on your phone. You just have to activate it as follows:<\/p><ol><li><div align=\"left\">Start <em>Control Panel.<\/em><\/div><\/li><li><div align=\"left\">Click <em>Change keyboards or other input methods <\/em>(under the <em>Clock, Language and Region <\/em>heading).<\/div><\/li><li><div align=\"left\">Click <em>Change keyboard.<\/em><\/div><\/li><li><div align=\"left\">If it already says <em>English (New Zealand) &#8211; Maori<\/em>, then it&#8217;s already set up. Don&#8217;t continue!<\/div><\/li><li><div align=\"left\">Otherwise, click <em>Add.<\/em><\/div><\/li><li><div align=\"left\">Scroll down to <em>English (New Zealand)<\/em>, expand <em>Keyboard<\/em>, click <em>Show More.<\/em><\/div><\/li><li><div align=\"left\">Find <em>Maori <\/em>in the list and tick it, then click <em>OK<\/em>.<\/div><\/li><li><div align=\"left\">Change the <em>Default input language <\/em>to <em>English (New Zealand) &#8211; Maori.<\/em><\/div><\/li><\/ol><p align=\"left\">Now you can easily enter a macronised vowel by pressing\u00a0 ` (the tilde key, the key with ~ on it) and then the vowel.
