So windows appears faster but its really smoke and mirrors. “windows fast start” is turned on by default in your power management of Win 10…<\/p>

Disabling Fast Start up<\/strong><\/p>

To disable Fast Start up, press the Windows Key + R to bring up the Run dialog, type powercfg.cpl<\/em> and hit Enter. The Power Options window should appear. Click “Choose what the power buttons do” from the column on the left.\u00a0<\/p>

Scroll down to “Shutdown settings” and uncheck the box for “Turn on fast startup”.\u00a0<\/p>

Note: If these options are greyed out then you may need to click “Change settings that are currently unavailable”.<\/em><\/p>

Click the “Save changes” button to apply the changes.\u00a0<\/p>

Its a cross between hibernation and having your fingers slammed in the door.. you might think everything is faster but when things go bad they usually go from bad to worse. Some programs need to close and open freshly upon reboot… if they can’t the can cause all sorts of odd behaviour.<\/p>

Easy fix ! turn off windows fast start, your machine may load a bit slower but at least it will run well…<\/p>

If it\u2019s one thing I can\u2019t stress enough is back your stuff up !!
It\u2019s near impossible to recover pictures and important thing from a frazzled HDD even worse from an SSD. So either burn it to dvd or what I recommend is sign up for a free Mega account and store it in the cloud.
With a free account you get 50Gb of storage! It\u2019s all encrypted and its NZ based so has to conform to NZ laws\u2026 not snooped on..
But I stress DO NOT forget your password, there is no mechanism to recover it. Not even the company can access the data !
There is an APP for Android and Apple and is good for moving your pics to free up space on your phone. They also have an app that you can use to sync data from your PC \/ Mac.
My opinion 10\/10 for usability and security !<\/p>

Keyboard setup for macrons<\/h1>

A macron is a line above a vowel to indicate that it should be spoken as a long vowel: \u0101, \u0113, \u012b, \u014d, \u016b, \u0100, \u0112, \u012a, \u014c and\u00a0\u016a.\u00a0<\/p>

Windows 7\/8\/10<\/h2>

On Windows 10, the M\u0101ori keyboard driver is already installed. You just have to activate it as follows:<\/p>

  1. Start Control Panel.<\/em><\/div><\/li>
  2. Click Change keyboards or other input methods <\/em>(under the Clock, Language and Region <\/em>heading).<\/div><\/li>
  3. Click Change keyboard.<\/em><\/div><\/li>
  4. If it already says English (New Zealand) – Maori<\/em>, then it’s already set up. Don’t continue!<\/div><\/li>
  5. Otherwise, click Add.<\/em><\/div><\/li>
  6. Scroll down to English (New Zealand)<\/em>, expand Keyboard<\/em>, click Show More.<\/em><\/div><\/li>
  7. Find Maori <\/em>in the list and tick it, then click OK<\/em>.<\/div><\/li>
  8. Change the Default input language <\/em>to English (New Zealand) – Maori.<\/em><\/div><\/li><\/ol>

    Now you can easily enter a macronised vowel by pressing\u00a0 ` (the tilde key, the key with ~ on it) and then the vowel. To enter a macronised capital vowel, press `, then hold down shift and press the vowel.<\/p>

    Typing Macrons<\/h2>

    Now\u00a0you can easily enter a macronised vowel by pressing `<\/strong> (the key with ~<\/strong> on it) and then the vowel.<\/p>
